What About the Clubhouse
So you just moved into an active adult community. And there’s a clubhouse. Have you thought about what will you do in or with the clubhouse?
The clubhouse is the social activities center of the community. You just moved into a new community. Since you know very few people, if any, go to the club house. After all, this is where you go to meet people. And, this is where you have a social life that doesn’t involve your children.
Activities
The clubhouse almost always has some kind of an activity going on every day. You have card games, clubs, trips, the gym. Maybe go swimming or to the billiard room and shoot some pool. Watch out for the guys who come in with a two piece stick in a leather case. Especially if they say they don’t know how to shoot pool. Of just sit down and talk with other people.
The Basic Rules
Basic rules of the clubhouse are that you get as involved or as un-involved as you want to be. If there’s an activity that you love to do, the odds are good that there’s a club for that activity. However, if they don’t, put a sign on the bulletin board saying that you need some people to join you in whatever activity it is that you want to do. You will get responses. This is the Social Hub of the community. You are paying for for the clubhouse, make use of it.
